Vacation can so easily become another place where we receive God’s gifts while barely noticing the Giver.

I especially appreciated the family angle here. Kids learn a lot from what we make room for when life is out of routine. A short Psalm, a prayer in the car, singing together, or visiting a church away from home may seem small, but those little habits quietly teach them that God is not just part of normal life — He is Lord over rest, wonder, travel, and joy too.

Reading this on vacation and it was awesome, thanks!

My husband and I are currently empty-nesters, and we have taken road trips as an opportunity to read/discuss theology! Predestination/Election? No problem when you're on the road all day! Sovereignty of God? Tackled when the views are poor!

Love this, Tessa!

Well said, Zak.

I often encouraged my congregation to visit other churches when away on vacation. I intended to bless them with the joy of worshipping with newfound brethren and not to take a spiritual vacation.
